So, You Chose to Place for Adoption, What Now?

What a rollercoaster ride you have been on! Worry, relief, fear, joy – every emotion in the span of a year or so. From finding out that you were pregnant to placing your baby in the arms of their adoptive parents, this may have been one of the most emotional seasons of your life. It may feel like you are processing all of this on your own and that no one else can possibly know what you’re going through. But the truth is that you are not alone. There are so many others going through what you’re going through!

Is What I’m Feeling Normal?

It is always ok for you to feel anything that you’re feeling. Some women feel deep grief after placing their baby up for adoption. Some women feel joy and relief. Both of those feelings are totally normal, and they are ok for you to feel.

Most women find it helpful to find a new normal after adoption. Life is different now because you are a mother. Even if you are not raising your baby, you still have a baby, and that part of your heart will never stop loving them.  Going back to life before pregnancy probably won’t happen. But, finding a new normal is possible.
